abstract PURPOSE: To provide a paint resin compsn. which has excellent dispersibility for various pigments, by a method wherein a vinyl acetate-acrylic cpd. copolymer contg a basic component is blended with a vinyl acetate-acrylic cpd. copolymer contg. an acidic component. n CONSTITUTION: A copolymer consisting of 80W30wt% of vinyl acetate, 20W70wt% of an acrylic monomer (e.g. methyl methacrylate) and 0.01W10wt% of a basic monomer (e.g. dimethylaminoethyl acrylate), is mixed with a copolymer consisting of 80W30wt% of vinyl acetate, 20W70wt% of an acrylic monomer and 0.01W5wt% of an acidic monomer (e.g. maleic anhydride) in a weight ratio of the copolymer contg. the basic component to the copolymer contg. the acidic component of 95:5W 5:95. The resulting paint resin compsn. is particularly effective when the compsn. is used for a mixed pigment of carbon black and other pigment (e.g. titanium oxide) in a mixing ratio of 1:1W50. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1981,JPO&Japio
