titleOfInvention Purification of polyether-polyol
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain polyether-polyol suitable as a material for polyurethane resins, by adding a specified nucleating agent to polyether-polyol containing an alkaline catalyst, neutralizing the mixture with an aqueous solution of a mineral acid, dehydrating and drying the neutralized product. n CONSTITUTION: To an alkaline catalyst-containing polyether-polyol prepared by polyadding an alkylene oxide to an organic compound containing at least one active hydrogen in the molecule, in the presence of an alkaline catalyst there are added 0W10wt% of water and as a nucleating agent 0.01W0.3wt% of a salt of a mineral acid having a dissociation constant, in water at 25°C, of at least 10 -3 , such as Na 2 SO 3 or KCl. Then, the mixture is neutralized at 30W100°C by adding thereto a mineral acid having a dissociation constant, in water at 25°C, of an least 10 -3 , such as sulfuric acid or hydrochloric acid. Then, up to 2wt% of an acid-adsorbing agent such as Na 2 CO 3 or an alkali-adsorbing agent such as activated clay is added to the mixture, and the resulting mixture is dehydrated in vacuum at a temperature higher than 80°C and then filtered. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1981,JPO&Japio
