titleOfInvention | Production of polyester having excellent particle dispersibility |
abstract | PURPOSE: To produce a highly dyeable polyester having excellent transparency and particle dispersibility, by polymerizing terephthalic acid with a glycol in the presence of both a polyalkylene glycol and Al 2 O 3 -containing silica. n CONSTITUTION: To a reactor are fed terephthalic acid or an esterifiable derivative thereof and a glycol or an esterifiable derivative thereof selected from ethylene glycol and 1,4-butanediol. Then, the polymerization of the mixture is started and then, to the mixture are added (A) 1.0W10wt%, based on the polyester produced, of a polyalkylene glycol, MW ≤5,000, (B) 0.05W4wt% of pyrogenic silica containing 0.1W5wt% of Al 2 O 3 , average primary diameter ≤100mμ, and optionally (C) 0.5W30wt%, based on component B, of a tetraalkylammonium compound. Then, the polymerization of the mixture is brought to completion to obtain a polyester, limiting viscosity ≥0.45. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1981,JPO&Japio |
