titleOfInvention Manufacture of magnesium silicoaluminate for medical treatment
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain the titled compound whose polysilicate moiety is insoluble in acid and has stomach wall protecting action by reacting specified aluminum polysilicate gel with a water soluble Mg salt, an aluminate and an alkali metal salt. n CONSTITUTION: An alkali silicate and an acidic Al salt such as AlCl 3 or Al (NO 3 ) 3 are heat-reacted at 70W90°C in an Al:Si ratio of (1.4W2.4):10 to prepare aluminum polysilicate gel. To this gel are then added a water soluble Mg salt such as MgCl 2 or Mg(NO 3 ) 2 , an aluminate such as sodium aluminate or potassium aluminate and an alkali metal compound such as NaOH or sodium carbonate, and they are reacted at ordinary temp.
