titleOfInvention Activation of scrap vulcanized rubber
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain reclaimed rubber having the same quality as that prepared from a raw material of rubber industrially easily in a short time, by blending scrap vulcanized rubber with a specific group-containing compound and/or a quinone compound, followed by irradiation of high frequency. n CONSTITUTION: At least one compound selected from a compound containing OH and/or COOH group and quinones is added to powdered scrap vulanized rubber by spraying, scattering, or blending to give a mixture, which is irradiated and activated by a high frequency of about 915W1,500Hz for 3W5min to prepare reclaimed rubber. The powdered rubber, preferably 15W100wt% of the powder goes through a mesh of 50 to shorten treatment time. Powder obtained by grinding under low- temperature freezing can be used. An amount of the compound is preferably about 0.2W2wt% based on rubber, and water, NaOH, KOH, a phenol, fatty acid, fatty acid-containing plant oil, etc. may be used as the compound. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1981,JPO&Japio
