titleOfInvention Cellulosic hollow fiber
abstract PURPOSE: The titled hollow fiber that has specific outer diameter, wall thickness and porous structure with fine diameter on the inner wall surface, further including holes with larger diameters than the average diameter of the pores on the inner wall surface, thus being suitably used for a filtration-type artificial kidney becuase of its high flux. n CONSTITUTION: A spinning dope of cellulose acetate in a mixed solvent of formamide and acetone is extruded through annular nozzles and a mixed solution of urea-water-acetone is extruded into the center part of the hollow fiber as a core component. The resultant hollow fiber is introduced into a water bath to effect coagulation, washed with water and taken up to produce the objective hollow fiber having an outer diameter of 50W200μ, wall thickness of 5W800μ, a porous structure with 0.01W5μ average pore diameter on the inner wall surface and including holes with diameters 5W30 times as much as the average pore diameter. These holes are preferably included by 1W30per 1,000 squaremicrons of the inside wall surface. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1981,JPO&Japio
