abstract PURPOSE:To provide the titled recording material which contains a specified fluoran compound as a color former, forms a blackish color and is excellent in color density as well as in resistance to light, water and the like after color formation. CONSTITUTION:A fluoran compound of the formula (where R1, R2 are each lower alkyl identical for different; R3 is lower alkyl substituted by fluorine atom; R4 is lower alkyl which may be substituted by H, benzyl, phenyl or flurorine atom), for example, 3-diethylamino-7-fluoromethylamino-fluoran or 3-diethylamino-7-(2'- fluoroethylamino)-fluoran is dispersed in an adequate solvent, the dispersion is coated on paper and dried to obtain the objective color-forming recording material.
