NEW MATERIAL:A quinoxaline derivative expressed by formula I [ X is Cl or F; R is COOR 1 [R 1 is alkyl, cyclohexyl, phenyl, benzyl, (CH 2 )OCH 3 , CH 2 CH=CH 2 or salt-forming atom], CON(CH 3 ) 2 , CN, CH=CH-COOCH 3 or CH 2 OH]. n EXAMPLE: n-Propyl 2-[4-(6-chloro-2-quinoxalyloxy)phenoxy]propionate. n USE: A herbicide effective particularly against gramineous plants by any of soil and foliar treatment, with little phototoxicity to cotton, a soybean, a Japanese radish, cabbage, eggplant, etc. n PROCESS: A 2,6-dihalogenoquinoxaline of formula II as a raw material is reacted with hydroquinone to give the compound of formula I via a 6-halogeno-2-(4'-hydroxyphenoxy)quinoxaline of formula III. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1981,JPO&Japio |
