titleOfInvention | Manufacture of flexible joint |
abstract | PURPOSE: To enable the production of a flexible joint for a rocket motor which is excellent in softness and has a size accuracy, by a method wherein a given rubber component, consisting of an end hydroxyl group polybutadiene, diisocyanate, a trifunctional crosslinking agent, is used. n CONSTITUTION: In order to couple together a chamber 2 of a rocket motor 1 and a nozzle 9, a flexible joint 10, consisting of a plurality of metal rings 13 and a heat resisting rubber 14, is produced. The production of said flexible joint is such that, after a desired number of metal rings 21 are placed in a mold formed by molds 16, 17, 18, and 22, air in the mold is bleeded by means of a vaccum pump, and a given rubber component is poured through a plunger 26 for curing. The given rubber component used thereupon is a mixture of 1.8W2.1 of hydroxyl group number, an end hydroxyl polybutadien having 100W5,000 of an average molecular weight, disocynate, and trifunctional crosslinking agent, such as triole. This permits the miniaturization of an actuator because of a low modulus of shear elasticity. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1981,JPO&Japio |
