titleOfInvention Carbostyril derivative
abstract NEW MATERIAL:A compound of formula I (R 1 is H or lower alkyl; R 2 is halogen, lower alkyl, or lower alkoxy; A is CO; l is 0 or 1; Y is lower alkylene; n is 0W3; the bond between the 3- and the 4-carbon atoms in the carbostyril skeleton is single or double bond) and its salt. n EXAMPLE: 6-[3-(4-Phenyl-1-piperazingye)propioylamino]-3,4-dihydrocarbostyril. n USE: Antihistaminic agent and central nervous system depressant. n PROCESS: The compound of formula I can be prepared by reacting a novel compound of formula II (X 1 is halogen) with a compound of formula III some of which is novel. The compound of formula II is obtained by the reaction of a compound of formula VI with a compound of formula X 1 -Y-COOH or X 2 -Y-X 1 (X 2 is halogen), and the compound of formula III is obtained by the reaction of the compound of formula HN(CH 2 CH) 2 OH 2 with a compound of formula V. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1981,JPO&Japio
