titleOfInvention Production of polychlorinated copper phthalocyanine
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain titled compd. in high yield, by a method wherein, in a process for the synthesis of titled compd. comprising reacting a tetrachlorophthalic acid derivative with urea and a copper compd. in the presence of a catalyst, the reaction is carried out in the presence of an iodine compd. or a bromine compd. n CONSTITUTION: In a process for the synthesis of polychlorinated copper phthalocyanin comprising reacting tetrachlorophthalic anhydride or tetrachlorophthalimide with urea and a copper compd. such as cuprous chloride, cupric chloride, copper sulfate, or cupric bromide in the presence of a catalyst such as titanium tetrachloride, zirconium tetrachloride and in an org. solvent such as nitrobenzene, the reaction is carried out in the presence of an iodine compd. such as cuprous iodide, ammonium iodide, or sodium iodide in an amount corresponding to 0.005W0.2 atoms of iodine per mole of the tetrachlorophthalic acid derivative, or a bromine compd. such as copper bromide, ammonium bromide, or sodium bromide in an amount correspondig to 0.005W0.2 atoms of bromine per mole of the tetrachlorophthalic acid derivative. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1981,JPO&Japio
