abstract NEW MATERIAL:Trihalopropane derivative of formula I (R 1 is lower alkyl; X is halogen; A is carbonyl, sulfonyl). n EXAMPLE: N-(1-n-Butyloxy-3,3,3,-trichloropropyl)phthalimide. n USE: Fungicide for agriculture and horticulture: they have antifungal activity and show excellent controlling effect on various kinds of pest fungi causing plant diseases. Further, there is almost no fear of injury to plants. n PREPARATION: The reaction between a benzheterocyclic compound of formula II and a 3-alkoxy-1,1,1,3-tetrahalopropane of formula III is conducted in an inert solvent in the presence or absence of an acid acceptor at 0W50°C for 1W12hr to give the compound of formula I. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1981,JPO&Japio
