titleOfInvention Preparation of polymer composition containing cell or organelle
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain a stabilized polymer composition, by polymerizing a monomer having the supercooling property at a low temperature with light or ionizing radiation to immobilize a cell or organelle in a synthetic high polymer carrier. n CONSTITUTION: A protective substance, e.g. bovine serum albumin, gelatin or sorbitol, and a monomer, e.g. hydroxyethyl acrylate or diethylene glycol dimethacrylate, or a mixture thereof having the supercooling property at a low temperature are mixed with a suspension of a cell or organelle in a buffer solution of pH7W8 containing saccharose, Trizma base and common salt. The resultant mixture is then cooled at 0°C or below, preferably -20W-100°C, and polymerized with ultraviolet light or ionizing radiation. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1981,JPO&Japio
