abstract PURPOSE: To carry out the continuous buld polymerization of trioxane industrually and stably for a long time, by using a reactor, having a high self-cleaning property, and comprising convex lens-shaped plate paddle agitators with sharp ends. n CONSTITUTION: A liquid mixture of molten trioxane with a catalyst is fed to a raw material feed inlet of a continuous agitaing mixer comprising a hollow drum of cross section wherein eccentric circles of the same diameter are overlapped and parallel agitating shafts 1 and 1' in the respective centers of the circles in the long direction of the hollow drum, said agitating shafts 1 and 1' having a plurality of plate paddle agitators 4 and 4' having a cross section of convex lens with sharp ends fixed to the agitating shafts 1 and 1' in contact with each other as a reactor. The raw material mixture is polymerized while being transferred to an outlet, and the reaction product is taken out of the outlet away from the feed inlet as a powder or granule. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1981,JPO&Japio
