abstract PURPOSE: To prepare the titled polymer having high crystallinity, by using a catalyst having high thermal stability and composed of a solid component prepared by reacting a reaction product of an electron donor and an organo-aluminum compound with titanium tetrachoride in the presence of an aromatic compound, and an organo- aluminum compound. n CONSTITUTION: An α-olefin (e.g. propylene) is polymerized in the presence of a catalyst comprising (A) a solid product obtained by reacting (a) the reaction product of an electron donor (1mol), e.g. di-n-butyl ether, with an organo-aluminum compound (3W8mol), e.g. diethylaluminum monochloride and (b) titanium tetrachloride in the presence of an aromatic compound such as toluene, and (B) an organo-aluminum compound, e.g. diethylaluminum monochloride. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1981,JPO&Japio
