titleOfInvention Composite hollow fiber and its production
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain the titled hollow fiber, having improved water and moisture absorbing properties, and scarcely deteriorating the strength and fibrillating, by composite spinning of a polyester containing a specific modified polyester and a polyester free from the modified polyester under specified conditions to remove the modified polyester component. n CONSTITUTION: A polyester is incorporated with (a) a modified polyester copolymerized with an organic sulfonic acid compound expressed by the formula (Z is trivalent aromatic or aliphatic hydrocarbon; M is metal or H. R 1 is ester-forming functional group; R 2 is R 1 or H). (I) The resultant mixed polyester is melt spun with (II) a polyester free from the modified polyester at a volume ratio between the mixed polyester (I) and the whole fiber [mixed polyester (I) and polyester (II)] of 30W70% without mixing through the same spinneret hole to give a hollow composite fiber wherein the mixed polyester (I) is continuous from the surface to the hollow part. The fiber is then treated with an alkali to remove the component (a) party to form the aimed composite fiber consisting of (A) a porous component containing micropores which have a diameter of 0.001W5μm and a length 50 times or less that of the diameter and communicate to (C) a hollow part, (B) a solid component and (C) the hollow part. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1981,JPO&Japio
