NEW MATERIAL:An amino sugar antibiotic G-367-2 having the following physicochemical properties, and a nontoxic acid addition salt thereof: Melting point 151W 155°C. [α]D 24 =+159.8° (C=1.0, water). Elemental analysis C, 50.41%; H, 7.92%; N, 15.16% (calculated: C, 50.99%; H, 8.33%; N, 15.64%). Molecular weight 447 (from mass spectrometry). Molecular formula C 19 H 37 N 5 O 7 . Soluble in water and methanol; insoluble in acetone, benzene, etc. Positive to the ninhydrin and KMnO 4 reactions; negative to Elson-Morgan's and biuret reactions. White. Basic. n USE: An antimicrobial agent against Gram-negative bacteria. n PROCESS: Dactylosporangium thailandense G367 (FERM-P No.4840) is incubated, preferably in an aqueous culture medium, at 25W35°C for 100W200hr, and the culture filtrate is separated and purified by the ion exchange resin method. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1981,JPO&Japio |
