titleOfInvention Water purifying method and its apparatus
abstract PURPOSE: To enhance the effect of purifying raw water such as the effect of sterilizing it and improving the hardness and taste by laying a low level radiation substance layer as a filter layer of a filter or under the filter layers of the filter to apply low level radiation. n CONSTITUTION: A layer of a low level radiation substance such as fine pieces 7 of monazite ore is laid under lowermost gravel layer 6 among the filter layers of filter 4 of water treating facilities. Water introduced into filter 4 is made stationary, and suspended solid particles in the water are captured by gaps in sand layer 5. While passing through gravel layer 6 and low level radiation monazite layer 7, the solid- free water is irradiated, resulting in accelerated sterilization and improvement in the hardness and taste. A low level irradiation tank holding dipped fine pieces or the like of monazite ore is set in a supply passage from filter 4 to a water tank to carry out low level irradiation. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1981,JPO&Japio
