titleOfInvention Preparation of jasmonate derivative and its intermediate
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain the titled derivative useful as a base for the preparation of perfumes in a short process industrially and advantageously, by obtaining a derivative of a cyclic ketotriester, a new intermediate, from a readily available starting compound, and then decarboxylating the derivative in the presence of an acid. n CONSTITUTION: A novel derivative of a cyclic triester expressed by formula 2 (R is methyl or ethyl; R 1 is a group of CH 3 CH 2 C≡CCH 2 -etc.) is decarboxylated in the presence of an acid to give the titled compound of formula 1. The compound of ofrmula 2 is obtained as follows: A compound of formula 5, easily synthesized, and a compound of formula 6 (X is halogen) are condensed in the presence of a base to give a compound of formula 3 including a novel compound of formula 3-1, which is condensed with a compound of formula 4 and subjected to ring enclosure in the presence of a base to afford the compound of formula 2. The novel compounds of formulas 3-1 and 2 are useful as perfumes due to the flower-like aromas thereof. The titled compound can be obtained in high yield and purity, by using the compound of formula 5 as a starting material. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1981,JPO&Japio
