titleOfInvention | Manufacture of water soluble iron salt |
abstract | PURPOSE: To continuously manufacture water soluble iron salt powder of uniform particle size by spray drying an aqueous iron salt soln. n CONSTITUTION: A water soluble iron salt such as iron pyrophosphate, iron citrate or ferric ammonium citrate which is important as a medicine for promoting nutrition is manufactured by spray drying an aqueous iron salt soln. in a hot air drying tower. Thus, uniform quality and small uniform particle size are attained, continuous manufacture is enabled, and the closed system results in high yield and good sanitary conditions. For example, citric acid is added to a ferric hydroxide slurry contg. 4W5wt% iron and heated to 70°C, and after adding sodium pyrophosphate they are reacted with stirring to increase the iron content to 5W6wt% and filtered. This soln. is then spray dried to obtain water soluble iron pyrophosphate powder of small uniform particle size. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1981,JPO&Japio |
