abstract NEW MATERIAL:A carboxylic acid ester of formula I (R is 1W6C alkyl, alkenyl or alkynyl). n EXAMPLE: An ester of 2-methyl-3-propargyloxymethyl-4-oxocyclopent-2-en-1-ol with 2,2,3,3-tetramethylcyclopropanecarboxylic acid. n USE: An insecticide, produced inexpensively, having a very immediate effect, a high insecticidal activity even against insects resistant to an organic phosphorous or carbamate compound and with low toxicity to men and cattle. n PROCESS: A carboxylic acid of formula II or its reactive derivative is reacted with an alcohol of formula III (A is OH, halogen or tosyloxy) or its reactive derivative, in the presence of a deacidifying agent, a base or a condensing agent if necessary to give the compound of formula I. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1981,JPO&Japio
