abstract PURPOSE: To provide the titled adhesive composition having an improved adhesiveness to a coarse surface, by a method wherein a water-soluble or water-dispersible, low-molecular acrylic polymer (salt) is added to an acrylic polymer emulsion and heated. n CONSTITUTION: (a) An acrylic polymer emulsion provided by emulsion poly- merisation of an acrylic monomer such as (meth)acrylic acid and maleic acid in aqueous medium is mixed with (b) a water-soluble or water-dispersible low- molecular acrylic polymer having mean MW of 10,000 to 100,000 or its salt in amount of 10 to 250pts.wt. per 100pts.wt. of the solid content of the emulsion.
