titleOfInvention Synthetic paper having excellent luster and slip
abstract PURPOSE:To obtain synthetic paper having excellent smoothness, luster, releasability, printability, etc., by adding a specific amount of a melamine/isocyanuric acid adduct or a melamine/cyanuric acid adduct to a thermoplastic olefin-based resin, and stretching the sheets from the resulting mixture at specific conditions. CONSTITUTION:Synthetic paper having good ink transfer, writability, etc., and freed from a trouble of paper dust after printing consecutively a large number of sheets is obtained by adding to a thermolastic olefin-based resin, 0.5-200pts.wt. per 100pts.wt. of the resin, of a melamine/isocyanuric acid or cyanuric acid adduct and other necessary inorganic powders such as calcined clay; kneading the mixture; extruding the kneaded mixture into sheets and then, stretching at least uniaxially the sheets at a stretch ratio of at least 1.3 at a temperature lower than the m.p. of the olefin-based resin. As the thermoplastic olefin-based resin, a resin consisting mainly of an olefin, such as polyethylene, polypropylene or polystyrene, particularly polypropylene or polyethylene having a density of 0.94-0.97g/cm<3> is preferred.
