abstract | PURPOSE: To provide a pigment dispersion for coated papers, which has a high concentration and a low viscosity, reduces the amount of a dispersant to be used per pigment unit and has excellent storage stability, transportation stability, etc., by adding fine calcium carbonate powder for coated papers to a satin white slurry. n CONSTITUTION: In the production of a pigment dispersion contg., as the main component, satin white which is calcium sulfoaluminate of the formula, the satin white is added to an aq. soln. of a dispersant such as polysodium acrylate to prepare a satin white slurry. Immediately after preparing the slurry, 80W250pts.wt. [per 100pts.wt. (on a solid basis) satin white] calcium carbonate powder having a particle size of 2μm or smaller for coated papers, is mixed with said slurry while rapidly stirring without causing precipitation or reagglomeration of said slurry, whereby the desired pigment dispersion for coated papers can be obtd. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1981,JPO&Japio |
