titleOfInvention Novel adduct of cefatrizine and its preparation
abstract NEW MATERIAL:The adduct of cefatrizine with 2-methoxyethanol of the formula. n USE: A readily crystallizable adduct of cefatrizine, an antibiotic, with a solvent used in crystallization purification. Since the adduct is readily crystallizable and stable, it is readily obtained as a high-purity crystals from a solution containing 2-methoxyethanol. The adduct is readily converted into another adduct with a different solvent, e.g., propylene glycol. n PREPARATION: 2-Methoxyethanol is added to a solution containing cefatrizine of the formula to effect the addition reaction. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1981,JPO&Japio
