titleOfInvention Selective herbicide
abstract NEW MATERIAL:A 3-(4-crotylthiophenyl)-1,1-dimethylurea derivative of formula I (X is H or halogen). n EXAMPLE: 3-(3-Chloro-4-trans-crotylthiophenyl)-1,1-dimethylurea. n USE: A selective herbicide, having a high selectivity in the genuses of main crops, e.g. wheat, soybeans or corn, and particularly between rice plants and barnyard grass, exhibiting a remarkable effect on annual broadleaf weeds, e.g. monochoria and false pimpernal and inhibiting the growth of perennial weeds, e.g. bulrush or arrowhead, with low toxicity to men and cattle and fishes and shellfishes. n PROCESS: A 4-crotylthiophenyl isocyanate derivative of formula II is reacted with dimethylamine to give the compound of formula I. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1981,JPO&Japio
