titleOfInvention Production of stabilized polyacetal polymer
abstract PURPOSE: To produce a stabilized plyacetal polymer, by supprssing the MW reduction during the reaction, by reacting polyoxymethylene with an alkylene oxide (or cyclic formal) in the presence of a polyether. n CONSTITUTION: The following components are mixed and reacted: (A) 100pts.wt. polyoxyethylene, average MW≥10,000, (B) about 0.01W200pts.wt. alkylene oxide, e.g., ethylene oxide, or cyclic formal, e.g., ethylene glycol formal, (C) about 0.001W50pts.wt. polyether, e.g., polyalkylene oxide of the formula, wherein R is H, an alkyl, an aryl, m is 2W6 and n is 3W20,000, and (E) a catalyst, e.g., tin tetrachloride. Here, (E) an MW modifier, e.g., methylal, can also be used. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1981,JPO&Japio
