titleOfInvention Recovering method for concentrated lithium solution free of arsenic from waste water from geothermal power plant
abstract PURPOSE: To recycle waste water from a geothermal power plant as lithium resource by passing the water through a column holding a mixture of a strongly basic anion exchange resin and an ion retardation resin and a column holding a strongly acidic cation exchange resin. n CONSTITUTION: In order to remove arsenic coexisting with lithium in waste water from a geothermal power plant, the water is passed through a column A holding a strongly basic anion exchange resin and an ion retardation resin mixed in 3:2wt. ratio in an amount about 5 times as much as the mixed resin. The outflow from the column A is further passed through a column B holding a strongly acidic cation exchange resin. An about 0.1 N soln. of caustic soda is then passed through the columns A, B to dissolved and recover arsenic. Finally, by passing a hydrochloric acid soln. (about 7l acid and about 3l water) through the column B in an amount about 1/5 time as much as the resin, lithium is eluted to obtain a concd. lithium soln. contg. little arsenic. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1981,JPO&Japio
