NEW MATERIAL:A tetrazolecoumarin derivative expressed by formula I [R is H, alkyl, alkenyl, alkoxyalkyl or phenyl; (n) is 2, 3 or 4; R-O-(CH 2 ) n -O is substituted at any position of the 5- to 8- positions in the coumarin ring] and a salt thereof. n EXAMPLE: 8-(3-Hydroxypropoxy)-3-(1H-tetrazol-5-yl)coumarin. n USE: An antiallergic agent, capable of suppressing the liberation of a chemical mediator, e.g. histamine or SRS-A, from mastocytes by an immunological reaction, and exhibiting a remarkable effect particularly on allergic asthma by the oral administration. n PROCESS: A coumarin derivative of formula II is reacted with hydrazoic acid or a salt thereof to give the compound of formula I or a salt thereof. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1981,JPO&Japio |
