abstract | PURPOSE: A highly dispersed aqueous dispersion of an ethylenic copolymer having an acid group., excellent in chemical stability and giving a highly strong membrane, which is prepared using a specified proportion of a polyacrylate partially saponified as a protective colloid agent. n CONSTITUTION: An aqueous dispersion of an ethylenic copolymer resin prepared by compounding (A) 100pts.wt. ethylenic copolymer resin of acid value ≥10 (e.g., a random copolymer of ethylene and an ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid), (B) 2W40pts.wt. polymer of a 1W8C alkanol (meth)acrylate of saponification degree 3W65% [e.g., a polymer of an ester obtd. by the reacton of methanol with (meth)acrylic acid, saponified to an extent of 3W65mol%] and (C) 30W 1,000pts.wt. water.
