titleOfInvention Ethylene glycol derivative
abstract NEW MATERIAL:Ethylene glycol derivatives of formula I (n is 1W5; R 1 is 8W26C aliphatic hydrocarbon residue; R 2 , R 3 , R 4 are H, lower alkyl, cyclic ammonio group of formula II) or their salts. n EXAMPLE: 3,6-Dioxatetracos-15(Z)-enyl 2-trimethylammonioethyl phosphate. n USE: Antitumor and antifungal agent: they inhibit the growth of tumor cells and show the activity of inducing differentiation (i.e., decanceration). They also show antitumor activity against tumor systems with relatively slow growth rate in vivo. Low toxicity. n PREPARATION: The reaction of a compound of formula III with another compound of formula IV (X, Y are halogen) gives a compound of formula V, which is made to react with water to give a compound of formula VI. Then, a compound of NR 2 R 3 R 4 is made to act on the product to give the compound of formula I. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1981,JPO&Japio
