titleOfInvention Manufacture of polyisocyanurate foam having low smoking property
abstract PURPOSE: To manufacture polyisocyanurate foam having a greatly improved smoking property and cracking resistance at high temperatures, by using a foam raw material previously mixed with an oxidant, e.g., potassium dichromate etc. n CONSTITUTION: In the manufacture of polyisocyanurate foam from an polyol (e.g., phenolic polyol, polyether polyol, etc.), a polyisocyanate (e.g., methylcyclohexane diisocyanate, triphenylmethane triisocyanate, etc.), a blowing agent (e.g., trichloromonofluoromethane etc.), a trimerization catalyst (e.g., a tertiary amine, etc.), and a surfactant, 30pts.wt. or less oxidant, e.g., potassium dichromate, sodium dichromate, etc., is added to 100pts.wt. foam raw material. Thus, polyisocyanurate foam having a greatly reduced smoking property when taking fire and a high cracking resistance can be manufactured by a method similar to the conventional manufacturing method. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1981,JPO&Japio
