abstract | PURPOSE: A yeast containing the titled substance is cultured in the presence of an agent that inhibits the electron transport to the electron transport complex III or IV in the course of oxidation in vivo to collect the titled substance in high yield. n CONSTITUTION: A yeast capable of producing coenzyme Q 10 , which belongs to Candida or Rhodotorula, is cultured in the presence of an agent that inhibits the electron transport to the electron transport complex III or IV in the course of in-vivo oxidation. The agent inhibiting the electron transport is, e.g., antimycin A 1 , n- heptylhydroxyquinoline-N-oxide, sodium azide or sodium sulfide.
