titleOfInvention Preparation of indole derivative
abstract PURPOSE: To prepare the titled compound, easily economically, in high purity and yield, by reacting a stable and easily handleable nitrotoluene derivative with di(thio)acetal of N,N-di-substituted (thio)formanide, and reducing the reaction product. n CONSTITUTION: The indole derivative of formula I (R is alkyl) is prepared by reacting (A) a nitrotoluene derivative of formula II with (B) an acetal compound of formula III (R 1 , R 2 are alkyl, aralkyl, or aryl; Q is or S; R 1 may be H), e.g. dimethyl(thio)acetal of dimethylformamide, and reducing the reaction product by catalytic reduction, etc. The reaction is carried out pref. at about 50W200°C under atmospheric pressure. n USE: Remedy and preventive for arrhythmia, auricular fibrillation and coronary vessel diseases. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1981,JPO&Japio
