abstract |
PURPOSE:To provent the development of solvent cracks at the mouth of a polyester container by treating the mouth with a mixed solvent comprising solvents of specific solubility parameters in forming a polyester container from a parison by means of blow-molding. CONSTITUTION:The mouth of a parison befofe blow-molding or after blow molding with a mixed solvent comprising a solvent of a solubility parameter delta of 8<delta<12 and a solvent of a solubility parameter of 8 or less or 12 or larger. The development of solvent cracks under stress as well as the whitening resulting from crystallization during the solvent treatment around the mouth of a container can effectively be prevented. |
