titleOfInvention | Higher fatty acid amide derivative, its preparation and surfactant containing the same as active constituent |
abstract | NEW MATERIAL:A higher fatty acid amide derivative of formula I (R1 is 9-21C alkyl or alkenyl; R2 and R3 are methyl or ethyl; n is 2 or 3). EXAMPLE:The compound of formula II. USE:Usable as a surfactant, detergent, a foaming agent, a dispersing agent, a textile softening agent, a textile water repellent, an antistatic agent, etc. and capable of treating fibers under simple treating conditions to impart a unique feeling thereto. PROCESS:A high fatty acid amide derivative of formula III is reacted with a compound of formula IV and formaldehyde or a low polymer thereof in the presence of a Lewis acid to give the compound of formula I. Alternatively, a compound of formula IV is reacted with a compound of formula V in the presence of a Lewis acid to afford the compound of formula I. |
