titleOfInvention Cation picket fence-type tetraphenylporphyrine and gas adsorbent
abstract NEW MATERIAL:A cation picket fence-type tetraphenylporphyrine of formula I [R are groups of formula II (R' is methyl or ethyl) all of which are in the same side of the plane containing the porphyrine ring], or its complex having a ligand coordinated to the axial coordination site at the other side of the above plane. n EXAMPLE: FeIP - [ NHCOCH 2 N⊕(CH 3 ) 3 Br⊖ ] 4 Br (IP is tetraphenylporphyrine ring). n USE: Gas adsorbent capable of reversibly adsorbing and desorbing O, CO, etc. in water at room temperature. Also it can be used as an oxygen carrier cocatalyst for oxygen addition reaction and for a fuel cell, or raw material of artificial blood. n PROCESS: Reaction of a compound of formula (R') 2 NH with bromoacetic acid gives the compound of formula III, which is made to react with triethylamine, etc. to afford the compound of formula IV. The product is treated with FeBr 2 , and the resulting compound of formula V is converted to the titled compound of formula I by the reaction with R'Br. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1981,JPO&Japio
