titleOfInvention | Microorganism measuring method by impedance method |
abstract | PURPOSE:To make characteristic test of microorganisms by measuring the decrease and increase in the impedance of a culture medium caused by the propagation of microorganisms. CONSTITUTION:The culture medium is made by dissolving a basal medium of which the essential components are proteins such as peptone and meat extract used with amino acids in fungus bodies, 2.5-10.0gr/l hydrocarbon such as grape sugar or inositol and 1.0-10.0gr/l salts such as sodium or potassium in distilled water. If such specific culture medium is used, a peculiar impedance change is shown depending upon the kinds of germs. The decrease rate alpha and increase rate beta per unit time, decrease time t1, and increase time t2 of this impedance as well as the impedance decrease rate I at the start of increasing are measured. The data obtained with various kinds of unknown bacteria and known data are compared and the kinds of germs are identified. Since the peculiar impedance change is recognized, the automatic discrimination of identification is possible and since this method is usable for mircroorganism having hydrocarbon utilization caapcity, it is effective in the examination in clinical field. |
