titleOfInvention 2-pyridone intramolecular addition compound
abstract NEW MATERIAL:A 5-substituted-2-azabicyclo[2.2.0]hex-5-en-3-one of formula I (R is lower alkyl or lower alkenyl, e.g. methyl, butyl, allyl, butenyl, etc.). n USE: Antiphlogistic agent. n PROCESS: The compound of formula I is prepared by irradiating a compound of formula II with light of ≥300nm in wavelength, in a solvent exhibiting no absoption between 280nm and 350nm (e.g. methanol, ethanol, methylene chloride, ether, acetonitrile) for several W ten odd hours. The light source is a commercially available high pressure mercury lamp, e.g. "Toshiba 400P" high pressure mercury lamp, combined with a pyrex filter. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1981,JPO&Japio
