titleOfInvention | Isoindolone derivative |
abstract | NEW MATERIAL:A isoindolone derivative of formula I (R 1 is lower alkyl). n EXAMPLE: 3-Aryl-3-hydroxy-2-methylisoindolinone. n USE: Pesticides, pharmaceuticals, etc. Raw material of various synthetic chemicals. n PROCESS: The compound of formula I can be prepared by irradiating an alkyl phthalimide of formula II and a silylpropene of formula III (R 2 is lower alkyl or phenyl) in a solvent such as acetonitrile, with light e.g. from a 500-W high-pressure mercury lamp. The benzoazepin derivative of formula IV, which is obtained as a by- product, is a novel compound and expected as pesticides, pharmaceuticals, and a raw material of various synthetic chemicals. Although the amount of the silyl propene of formula III is usually 5mol/1mol of the compound of formula II, it is preferable to use in excess. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1981,JPO&Japio |
