titleOfInvention Drug-containing tape preparation
abstract PURPOSE: To provide a drug-containing tape preparation resistant to the drug dissipation with time or during use, and capable of transmitting the drug through the skin continuously for a long period, by forming a mixture of a polymeric substance and a compound consisting of a drug such as nitroglycerine included in a clathrating agent. n CONSTITUTION: A drug component such as a coronary vessel dilator having nitrous acid ester in the molecule, e.g. nitroglycerine, isosorbide, etc., an antiphlogistic and analgesic agent such as indomethacin, etc. is included in a clathrating agent (pref. cyclodextrin). The powdery clathrate compound thus obtained is compounded to a polymeric substance to obtain the objective drug-containing tape preparation. The amount of the clathrating agent is ≤90wt% based on the whole composition. By attaching the tape closely to the body, the clathrating agent is softened and dissolved with the moisture supplied from the body, and the isolated drug diffuses and migrates toward the body surface and is absorbed continuously through the skin surface. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1981,JPO&Japio
