titleOfInvention Preparation of elemental material for container
abstract PURPOSE:To obtain an elemental material for a container with enhanced galling resistance due to contour phear spinning by a method wherein Ni plating is applied to a surface of a steel plate and, thereafter, said steel plate is treated in an aqueous phosphoric acid (phosphate) solution. CONSTITUTION:Ni plating is applied to a surface of the steel plate in a thickness of 0.01-0.3mu. Succeedingly, said steel plate is treated in an aqueous phosphoric acid solution, an aqueous solution of a phosphate such as sodium phosphate or the like or an aqueous solution of phosphoric acid and a phosphate (e.g.: phosphoric acid + calcium phosphate). A concn. of the treating solution is about 1-200g/l, a temp. is a room temp. -95 deg.C, a treating time is about 0.5-20sec and said treating solution is coated on the surface of the steel plate by an immersion method or the like. By this treatment, lubricating effect is imparted to the plated steel plate and the elemental material for a container having properties suitable for making a can or the like is obtained. Further, by this treatment, the adhesiveness of a paint is enhanced.
