abstract PURPOSE: To provide the titled compsn. which does not cause melt snagging during flame retardation and has excellent electrical insulating properties and mechanical characteristics, by blending a bromine-containing flame retarder, Sb 2 O 3 , an olefin elastomer, a lead compd. and fumed silica with a polyolefin resin. n CONSTITUTION: 100pts.wt. polyolefin resin (A), 5W50pts.wt. decabromodiphenyl ether (B), 3W30pts.wt. olefin elastomer (C) (e.g., an ethylene-propylen elastomer), 1W20pts.wt. lead compd. (E) (e.g., lead stearate), 1W20pts.wt. fumed silica (F) and, if necessary, not more than 5pts.wt. org. peroxide are mixed together to obtain the titled compsn.
