abstract | PURPOSE: To obtain the titled crystal useful as an antipyretic, analgesic and antirheumatic agent, in high quality and processability, by reacting acetylsalicylic acid with an amino acid in a solvent system containing a specific solvent, and crystallizing the reaction product. n CONSTITUTION: Acetylsalicylic acid is made to react with an amino acid (e.g. dl- lysine) using an alcohol or its aqueous mixture, or acetone or its aquesous mixture as the reaction and crystallization solvent to obtain crystal of acetylsalicylic acid amino acid salt. When an aromatic hydrocarbon (e.g. benzene) is added to the reaction system, the size of the crystallized aspirin amino acid salt crystal is increased, and consequently, the filtration and washing of the crystal are facilitated, the hydrolysis of the product is prevented, and the drying is also facilitated. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1981,JPO&Japio |
