PURPOSE: To provide a bituminous compsn. having excellent wear resistance, by blending an epoxy resin, a bituminous substance and glass flakes together. n CONSTITUTION: 100pts.wt. epoxy rsin (e.g. a reaction product of epichlorohydrin with diphenylpropane), 50W400pts.wt. bituminous substance (e.g. asphalt or coal tar pitch) and 50W300pts.wt. glass flakes (having a thickness of 2W3μ and a particle size of 10 mesh or below) are blended together to form the titled bituminous compsn. The adhesiveness of said bituminous compsn. can be improved when said glass flakes are mixed with a tar oil (e.g. creosote oil), the mixt. is heat-treated with slight stirring at 100°C or above for 30min and then the glass flakes are used. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1981,JPO&Japio |
