NEW MATERIAL:A lysine derivative of formula I and its acid addition salt. n EXAMPLE: The compound of formula II. n USE: A phage-suppressing agent having strong antiphage activity against bacteriophage. Effective to prevent the troubles of phage infection in fermentation industry such as amino acid fermentation (e.g. L-lysine, L-glutamic acid, etc.), nucleic acid fermentation (e.g. inosine, guanosine, etc.), organic acid fermentation (e.g. citric acid, lactic acid, etc.), by adding 10 -3 W10 -6 M of the compound of formula I to the fermentation medium. n PROCESS: The compound of formula I is prepared by (1) reacting azelaic acid with N-hydroxysuccinimide and dicyclohexylimide in an inert solvent under ice cooling, and (2) reacting the resulting active ester of azelaic acid with lysine ethyl ester having protected ε-amino group. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1981,JPO&Japio |
