titleOfInvention Preparing aqueous dispersion
abstract PURPOSE: To provide an aqueous dispersion stable for a long period of time and useful as coating material by dispersing a mixture of two ethylene-α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid copolymer (alkali metal salts), each having different amount of α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid, into hot water whose temperature is higher than the mixture's melting point. n CONSTITUTION: (a) Ethylene-α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid copolymer or alkali metal salts thereof, contng. 12W30wt% of α,β-unsaturated caboxylic acid, and (b) ethylene-α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid copolymer or alkali metal salts thereof, contng. less than 12wt% of α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid are used so that α,β- unsaturated carboxylic acid in the resin will become 8W25% content and 30W80% neutralization degree. This resin is fed into hot water or aqueous alkaline solution maintained at a temperature higher than the melting point of resin and is vigorously stirred to provide a low-viscosity aqueous dispersion having high polymer concentration. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1980,JPO&Japio
