titleOfInvention Preparation of difluoromethylene-terminated olefin compound
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain the title substance in high yield, by reacting a compound having a CO or CHO group with a difluorohalomethane, a tertiary phosphine, a reducing metal or alkali (earth) metal iodide under mild conditions. n CONSTITUTION: (A) A compound, e.g. benzaldehyde, having a carbonyl or aldehyde group, except phthaldialdehyde, is reacted with (B) a difluorohalomethane, of the formula CF 2 X 2 (X is halogen having an atomic number ≤F), (C) a tertiary phosphine, e.g. triphenylphosphine, and (D) a reducing metal, e.g. Zn, or an alkali (earth) metal iodide, in a solvent at -30W250°C, preferably -10W180°C, to give the title substance. n EFFECT: A wide range of raw materials without forming by-products of dibromides. n USE: A monomer for high polymers, a raw material of an intermediate for fluorine- containing organic compounds. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1980,JPO&Japio
