NEW MATERIAL:A compound of formula I (R 1 , 2 are halogen, lower alkyl, lower alkoxy, lower acyl, or nitro; a is 0 or 1; b is 0 or 1; c and d are 0 or 1W5 provided that c+d≤5). n EXAMPLE: N-[3-(4-Homoisotwistyl)]-4-methylbenzamide. n USE: A remedy for viral diseases of man and animals, effective to DNA viruses (esp. herpes virus) as well as DNA viruses, and inactive to central nervous system. n PROCESS: Reaction of 4-homoisotwistanamine II with an acid halide III (X is halogen) in an inert organic solvent in the presence of a basic catalyst affords the compound I. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1980,JPO&Japio |
