PURPOSE: To prepare a resin composition for fiber-reinforcing, free of an organic solvent and giving intermediate materials having excellent low temperature-moldability and handling properties, by compounding a resin composition comprising an unsaturated polyester resin, diallyl phthalate, etc., with an organic peroxide. n CONSTITUTION: An unsaturated polyester and/or a vinyl ester resin are compounded with diallyl phthalate and/or diallyl isophthalate to attain a viscosity suitable for fiber-impregnation, i.e. preferably 40W300 poise at 80°C. The mixture is further compounded with organic peroxides, preferably a mixture comprising ≥0.5 parts by weight of a peroxide having a temperature of ≥105°C corresponding to the half- time of 10hr (e.g. methyl ethyl ketone peroxide, etc.) and 0.1W1.0 parts by weight of a peroxide having a temperature of 90W105°C corresponding to the half-time of 10hr (e.g. cyclohexanone peroxide, etc.), as the radical polymerization catalysts to give a resin composition. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1980,JPO&Japio |
